Learn about health insurance
Before you get your quotes, read our guides to help decide how much cover you need and what type suits you best.
What is health insurance?
Health Insurance is designed to cover the cost of private medical treatment for any acute conditions you may suffer in the future - this can be something simple like breaking a bone or more serious like a heart attack or cancer.
People buy medical insurance so they will not be at the mercy of a potentially long NHS waiting list. You would be able to choose when the treatment would take place, the specialist you would like to treat you and the hospital you would like to go to. You would also have your own en-suite room with a TV and an a la carte menu to choose from.
Some things are not covered though, including pre-existing medical conditions, GP services, cover for incurable illness and accident and emergency admissions.
